Our applications for support under the program are tailored to ensure that we ask solely the information that is required to process your application. Any personal information or financial information that may be sought is treated as "commercial-in-confidence" and is not circulated throughout the Organisation. The circulation of the information is restricted to authorising officers within the Organisation and members of a panel convened by Tourism New South Wales to conduct the assessment process of applications. Tourism Awards Each year, Tourism New South Wales in association with the New South Wales Tourism Awards for Business Excellence Management Committee, conduct an award program that acknowledges or showcases the excellent business achievements throughout the tourism industry. The information that we collect during this process is collected voluntarily and used to determine which business operator will receive a category award. The information in each entry may be viewed by no more than the Award Co-ordinator, three members of the judging panel, the Chairman of the judging panel and the auditor. The information in the entry is held securely and is not disclosed to anyone outside the above. All entrants (except the winner) will have their entry returned after the winner of each category has been announced. Each category winner’s entry is forwarded to the "Australian Tourism Awards" Management Committee to be judged for an "Australian Tourism Award". Tourism New South Wales may add contact information from an entry to our industry database and offer those tourism operators an opportunity to participate in our industry events. (See Corporate & Industry Events above) Should you be the successful applicant to the award, you and your business may be presented or introduced at one of the Tourism New South Wales industry forums in acknowledgement of your fine achievement. In addition, you and your business may be showcased in a Tourism New South Wales media release and/or one of our marketing activities. Should you wish that neither you nor your business be personally identified, please contact our Government Planning & Communications Division – Corporate Affairs Unit on 9931 1552 to have your personal information suppressed. The award program is independently audited by an external auditor, to ensure the probity of the process of award. During the process of auditing, the independent auditor will also have access to your entry; but strictly in accordance with the auditor’s duties and responsibilities. This means that the ANZ Bank is directly collecting your credit card details from you on this page. For more information on internet use please refer to the Internet Use section above. State Tourism Data Warehouse The State Tourism Data Warehouse (STDW) is the database that contains details of the various tourism operators and services within New South Wales. However, by joining the Get Connected program your company details and product information is stored in this database in order to provide a more comprehensive listing to the websites. The STDW is also accessed by the New South Wales tourism industry as a reference tool. For maximum marketing exposure we offer operators in the STDW the opportunity to participate in trade missions, to be included in trade newsletters, and in our trade (wholesale and retail agent) familiarisation visits and various other trade events. Should you wish not to be personally identified, please contact our International Sales & Operations Section on 9931 1419 to have your personal information suppressed.
